Bosco explained that his faith in Jesus Christ is a direct result of his attendance too the ministry as a kid. “Curbside is the opportunity for me to reach my hand back out to the next person,” Bosco said. “Just like people have done for me. That’s the true testament of what God’s love is. Just that transition of love from one person to the other.” 

WKU alumni and Bowling Green Resident Jean Bosco spends most of his days coaching at RockBox Fitness, relaxing at home, and pursuing his faith in serving others. Bosco became a Christian in high school while attending Curbside Ministries, an organization that brings messages about Jesus to children in refugee communities. Bosco grew up in Bowling Green after his family came to the U.S. as refugees from Rwanda when he was four. Now 23, Bosco graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Finance and is applying for jobs in the field. He hopes to get out of the Bowling Green area to see more of the world and explore. In the meantime, Bosco strives to serve others to reflect God’s love through his work as a coach and volunteering at Curbside Ministries.

He’s always led me in that way.”

Bosco grew up in Bowling Green after his family came to the U.S. as refugees from Rwanda when he was four. “It’s (his culture) not as important as I make it to be but that’s definitely something that as I get older I’m more intentional about preserving.”

On a wall in his room, Bosco has a vision board adorned with various positive and motivational messages to prepare him for his future. Bosco wants to move from Bowling Green and travel and learn new things. “[I want to leave Bowling Green] to get different experiences and different things.”
